Celebrity Engagement Ring Alert: Kelly Osbourne and Adam Levine Bring the Bling

There's been a celebrity engagement ring dry spell so far this summer until (drumroll....) this week two heavy hitters announced they're officially off the market: Fashion Police's purple-haired pixie, Kelly Osbourne, is engaged to vegan chef boyfriend, Mathew Mosshart, and (sorry, ladies) Maroon 5's Adam Levine proposed to his Victoria's Secret-model girlfriend, Behati Prinsloo.

Kelly Osbourne, no fashion wall-flower, designed her own engagement ring to match an earring worn by her rocker father, Ozzy.

"I designed it to look like an earring that my father wore," she gushed to Hello! Magazine. "I used to hold my finger up to his ear when I was little and say, 'I want a ring like that.' Now I have one!"

And just when you think Adam Levine is going to go for the stereotypical solitaire to match his stereotypical choice in soul mate? He throws us a curve ball by offering up a stunning vintage sparkler from the 1930s.

Says Prinsloo of her ring finger bling to Extra!,

“It’s from the 1930s. I was very giddy. I was speechless. It was a beautiful moment.”

It's hard for me to find the right words to describe how I'm feeling about your good fortune, Behati.

Drew Barrymore's Engagement Ring Bling

Drew Barrymore's engagement ring finger is once again sporting a diamond - and if her official engagement photo is any indication?

The third time may just be the charm...

Drew's hunky art-consultant fiance, Will Kopelman, put a stunning colorless, 4-carat, radiant-cut stunner on the 36-year-old actress over the holidays, according to USWeekly.com.

"He's madly in love and knows she's The One," a source told Us in October, adding that the actress was "yearning to get married and have kids."

But first, let's just bask in the glow of this new entry to the celebrity engagement ring Hall of Fame, shall we?

Kopelman designed the ring with Graff Diamonds (yes, THE Laurence Graff-owned bling-house that holds some of the world's most valuable rocks - click here for more on that) - and while 4-carats isn't the largest celebrity shiner we've seen by far (Beyonce, anyone?) the $120,000 estimated price tag is certainly Barrymore-esque, to say the least.

Kim Kardashian's Engagement Ring Details!

Kim Kardashian's engagement ring is the perfect fit for the uber-reality starlet's personal style. It's bold. It's beautiful. And (good gracious) is it BIG!

New Jersey Nets forward Kris Humphries popped the question after dating Kim for only 6 months with a whopping 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz stunner, People reports!  (Schwartz is a longtime friend of the Kardashian clan and is known for her 'bigger means better' bling on all the important red carpet events.)

“It’s the most beautiful thing I have ever seen,” Kardashian told People. “It’s perfect.”

And TMZ is reporting the stone is valued at over $2 million smackers! (someone get me a chair....)

The 16.5-carat emerald-cut center stone is flanked by a pair of 2-carat trapezoids, for a total weight of 20.5 carats! Humphries even managed to work with Schwartz on the design behind Kim's back.

“[Lorraine] always listened to what I would want and the shapes I love. I had said I loved an emerald cut and they were scheming and plotting for a while,” she explained.

No wedding date is set yet, and while Humphries isn't keen on a big celebration he joked with Kim's momager, Kris Jenner, that he'd be "fine if there were mini-horses there."

Careful what you wish for,  sport...

Kate Hudson's Engagement Ring Details!

Bling, baby bumps and now - Mrs. Bellamy? Kate Hudson's engagement ring made its dazzling debut with Matt Lauer on the Today Show this morning - and boy is it a doozy. 

UsMagazine.com reports the ring is likely a 9-carat rock - which isn't in the Mariah Carey (17-carats) or Beyonce (18-carats) stratosphere, but it's certainly of a caratage befitting the A-list.

The center stone appears to be an emerald-cut gem (actually, it looks a lot like Beyonce's engagement ring) with baguettes on either side set in a white metal - which for this crowd means platinum. One of my favorite Tweeps, Jean from Francesca Fine Jewelry tells me it's worth an estimated $200,000!

Will be on the lookout for more specs, but it's surprising to see such a 'traditional' look on Hudson, who is known as the queen of alternative fashion and boho chic.

Kate later told Lauer that wedding plans will be taking a back seat to all things baby, as she's expecting her second child with hubby-to-be, Matt Bellamy, in the next few months.

Kristen Stewart's Promise Ring Buzz

Did you hear? Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson gave co-star and sweetheart, Kristen Stewart, a ring last week! (And you thought the budget brouhaha in Washington was big news.)

While Twi-hards will be disappointed to learn that the rumored ring is not, in fact, an engagement ring - it is a rock that comes with relationship strings.

According to Hollwoodgossip.com, R-Pats threw down a whopping $17,000 for a vintage promise ring and is just "waiting for the right time to give it to her."

A source said, “The ring is rose-cut diamonds set in rose gold. It’s a very feminine piece of jewelry and very old. The diamonds aren’t huge, and it doesn’t look like an engagement ring. [He] found it through a dealer who specializes in estate jewelry, and he knew it was just perfect for Kristen.”

He’s not proposing, though. But the snitch is convinced that he would, if Kristen were on board for it.

I haven't heard much about the use of 'promise rings' these days, but it's heart-warming to know the tradition continues even with A-listers like this Tween dream couple. It's also nice to hear that rose gold is still a hot trend for all the metal mavens out there.

Rose gold, for the uninitiated, is a gold and copper alloy also known as pink gold or red gold (depending on the amount of copper in the mix).

Rose-cut diamonds were introduced as early as the 1500's and were popular until the early 1900's - so you see them a lot in vintage pieces like the one Rob apparently selected.

"The Bachelor" Engagement Ring Scoop

The Bachelor franchise has something going for it other than manufacturing doomed marriages for the sake of its deluded viewers (including yours truly). It has Neil Lane.

The celebrity designer has bedazzled the ring fingers of many blushing Bachelor brides-to-be and Bachelorettes since the show's inception 800 years ago. (Ok. 15 years ago)

According to StyleList, Lane personally globe-trots with a case of his vintage-inspired diamonds to help the reality show's stars handpick the rings that are part of the dramatic final rose ceremonies.

On the Season 15 finale airing tonight, hunky Texan Brad Womack will either offer single mom Emily Maynard or sultry siren Chantal O'Brien the final rose and the Neil Lane diamond stunner - which in previews appears to be a cushion-cut stone with pave accents.

Lane has bejeweled every celebrity under the sun  - from Jessica Simpson's ruby engagement ring to Reese Witherspoon's emerald earrings at this year's Oscars. But his diamonds are the most drool-worthy - which is why Kay Jewelers offers a line of Neil Lane bridal designs at price points mere mortals can afford.

"My rings used to be aspirational, but now they're attainable", he tells StyleList about the Kay partnership.

As for tonight's lucky lady? No one gets to keep the rock unless the relationship ends in a marriage that lasts longer than two years. So in other words? It's a Neil Lane loaner until she gets a gig on Dancing With The Stars. Stay tuned!

Natalie Portman's Engagement Ring Goes Green

Natalie Portman is having one heck of a year. And while her Oscar nomination is making big headlines this week, I'm turning my attention to another newsworthy Natalie item making the rounds - the blingy details of her gorgeous diamond engagement ring.

When it came to designing Portman's shiner, the A-lister's choreographer fiancé, Benjamin Millepied, relied on his leading lady and the art of ballet for inspiration, according to People. Millepied called on former dancer pal and jewelry designer Jamie Wolf to help create the perfect ring for his Black Swan.

“Ben was exceptionally thoughtful and dedicated and patient to make sure we had everything right,” Wolf explained to InStyle. “We wanted everything about the ring to speak to things that are important to Natalie.”

The circular Halo design centers around an antique mine-cut diamond, surrounded by certified conflict-free stones and made of recycled platinum — all in line with Natalie's eco-friendly, vegan lifestyle. The estimated price tag is around $35,000 - (or a lifetime supply of gluten-free veggie burgers).

I am in love with the 'Halo' look for engagement rings - and expect the silhouette to develop into a full-blown trend - especially now that Natalie's rock is getting so much air time during Awards Season. Stay tuned!

Kat Von D's Engagement Ring Details

So Kat von D and Jesse James are engaged, and despite how you might feel about the couple (James notoriously cheated on former wife, Sandra Bullock, just a year ago for those of you living in a cave), you have to admit her vintage-style engagement ring is totally cool.

And wouldn't you know? Neil Lane is the designer responsible for the celebrity ring bling. (If I had a diamond for every time I wrote that sentence...)

Lane tells People the ring is a four-carat-plus platinum and diamond ring from his archival collection, adding,

“It’s a beautiful ring set with a central round diamond in the middle with smaller surrounding diamonds for an overall dome shape. It has a delicate filigree pattern with very pretty scroll-work.”

Not so delicate? The way this couple is gushing all over town about how perfect their lives are now that they've finally found true love. Ick!

Kindof reminds me of when Brad and Angelina couldn't keep their mouths closed long enough to realize it might not be in the best taste considering Jennifer Aniston has a pair of eyes and ears that work just like everyone else and....
